In a significant development ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United) have finalized their seat-sharing agreement in Bihar. According to the announcement made on Monday, the BJP will contest on 17 seats, while the JD(U), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, will field candidates on 16 seats.
BJP's General Secretary, Vinod Tawde announced the seat -sharing arrangement during a press conference held on Monday.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar, which includes the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Hindustani Aawam Morcha (HAM), and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP), will see the LJP contesting on five seats, while HAM and RLSP will contest on one seat each.
Key constituencies where the BJP will field candidates include Pashchim Champaran, Purvi Champaran, Aurangabad, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Maharajganj, Saran, Begusarai, Nawada, Patna Sahib, Patliputra, Aara, Buxar, and Sasaram.
On the other hand, the JD(U) will contest on seats such as Valmikinagar, Sitamadhi, Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Madhepura, Gopalganj, Siwan, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Nalanda, Jehanabad, and Sheohar.
